Join us for a plant tour of CenTrio’s Denver district energy system located at the National Western Center - where innovative energy meets the sustainable solutions..

Our goal is clear: to harness the power of wastewater to drive sustainability, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and create a cleaner, greener future for Denver and beyond.

At the heart of our operation lies collaboration and infrastructure modernization. Our system taps into the city's sanitary sewer lines, recycling thermal energy from wastewater to provide heating and cooling to over 1 million square feet of buildings on the National Western Center campus. This pioneering approach not only conserves water, but also slashes air pollution and revitalizes the community.

What sets our Denver system apart is its scale and ingenuity. With a capacity rated at 3.8 MW, it stands as the largest sewer-heat recovery system in North America. By sourcing nearly 90% of its heating and cooling from sewer heat recovery, we're making substantial strides towards decarbonization, reducing the carbon footprint by a staggering 70%.

Our impact extends beyond environmental sustainability. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we're fostering connections that go beyond the confines of our facility. From collaborative initiatives with Colorado State University (CSU) Spur to solar PV installations in community solar gardens, we're weaving a fabric of sustainability that enriches the fabric of our neighborhoods.

We hope to see you there as we embark on this journey towards a brighter, more sustainable future.
